Steve Jobs announced a slew of new Apple hardware and software products at MacWorld SF this morning.
The new iMac features an Intel Core Duo processor. Models (17″, 20″) and features are the same as the previous iMac G5. System speed is 2-3x as fast as the previous model. Same price as PowerPC models.
The MacBook Pro replaces the PowerBook. Intel Core Duo CPU, 15.4″ LCD, Apple Remote, iSight camera built in. Thinner than the 17″ PowerBook, 5.6 lbs. ATI x1600 graphics. $1999 for 1.67Ghz, $2499 for 1.83Ghz. Ships in February.
Mac OS X 10.4.4 comes out today. Has bug fixes, native on Intel, comes with new widgets.
iLife ’06 available today. Includes new “Photocasting” features, iWeb application for easy web publishing. Same price as before ($79).
iWork ’06 has 3d charts, advanced image editing, image reflections, free form and masking, tables with calculations, new themes and templates. Available today for $79.
