Along with the release of iTunes 4.9 with Podcasting support, Apple today updated the iPod lineup. The 1G iPod Shuffle was reduced to $129, and “regular” iPods (all now with color screens and photo support) are available in 20G and 60G varieties for $299 and $399, respectively. The iPod U2 remains at $329, with 20G of storage and a color screen. The iPod Mini is the only remaining iPod with a monochrome screen.

Neometric Software has announced the immediate availability of a new software product called PHP Studio. PHP Studio allows users to write, visualize, and test PHP code with true Mac style and supreme efficiency.

Apple has ceased sales of the single-processor 1.8Ghz Power Macintosh, stating that the entire line is now dual-CPU across the board. Customers wanting a single-CPU system are now directed towards the iMac G5.
